Favourite Spring Fashion Picks

It finally seems like Spring is around the corner and my wardrobe is definitely feeling it. Everything in my closet is feeling tired and used, over and over again. I’m ready to feel fresh and light again! I’m excited about all the Spring trends that came down the runway this year. There is lots of colour! With pastels coming back in a big way. The 90’s are making a bit of a comeback with the slip dress, a look I’m definitely going to be trying. Distressed denim is still one of the top trends. Making another comeback is wide leg denim with a flare! I love this vintage look. Sporty Athletic themes made their way down a few runways. And finally the fancy tee and graphic tee, a great twist on a classic outfit. Check out my picks on some of the trends below, as well as some ideas to try them with. What are you going to try?

Pastels

 

T by Alexander Wang – Pastels are coming just in time for Easter and the warmer weather. I suggest trying pastels with nudes and pinks for accessories. It is important to keep the look soft and feminine.

The slip dress is about simplicity and sexiness. To wear this look, keep everything else minimal. No accessories, not a big dressy shoes, and style your hair with beach waves to look effortless!

Distressed Denim

 

ANINE BING  (top) Guess (Bottom)- I love the update on the regular denim look. This is the perfect amount of edge and fashion tied into a pair of pants you will wear everyday.

Wide Leg Denim

 

ANINE BING – Wide leg denim with a high waist is also going to be hitting stores this season. A lot of women don’t feel like they know how to wear this trend. You can go for a kimono inspired top with a camisole, or you tuck in a blouse and show off your waist. This look is so slimming! I would suggest wearing with a closed toe boot or heels to keep that vintage inspiration flowing!

Athletics 

 

For Love & Lemons – The sporty athletic look turned some heads down the run way. Think wearing comfort clothes, with a refined edge so that it still looks fashionable. Fitted pieces, like this crop top/high waisted skirt combo are a great example. Extremely comfortable, easy to put on, but ready for a night out. Cara Delevigne would defintely wear this with Nike wedges, but Sienna Miller would wear with a bootie heel.

Graphic Tees 

 

BCBG Max Azria – Graphic Tee’s and Fancy Tees are making a comeback. These are different than your regular white t shirt. Perfect to throw a blazer over top for the office, or to dress up with a statement necklace when you’re going out. These Tee’s are in luxe fabrics, with a shift fit.

 

Ankle Boots 

 

ANINE BING – This year the ankle boot is all about greys, neutrals, and suede. Picture these boots with a pair of shorts in the summer, and your distressed denim before the weather gets too warm. I’m obsessed with these. They will go with everything!
