How to Shop for the Ultimate Deals Online: The 8 Best Quality Online Stores!

Some of the comments I see the most from people looking for fashion advice are questions asking about what online clothing stores I like to buy from. It can be crazy stressful to shop for clothing online, especially when different stores and brands can have different sizes and it’s not always easy to try stuff on to make sure it fits. To help you shop smarter, I’ve picked out eight of my favorite places on the web to shop for quality clothing and accessories, from consignment stores to luxury brands.

For clothing that will fit into a casual and chic look, I recommend ShopBop for the great deals in their sale section. ShopBop’s sale section is one of my favorite places to look for off-season clothing, especially if I have a trip planned for somewhere warm. Since they’re owned by Amazon, ShopBop’s shipping and returns are no problem. ShopBop has a great variety of retailers that offer a lot of my favorite casual pieces like t-shirts and jeans, and even boots! The “Our Must-Haves” section on their website is a great start if you’re looking to update your wardrobe but haven’t decided where to start. My tip for you is to make a list of what you like in their “Must-Haves” and then take a look in the sale section for similar items to save a few bucks. If you’re looking for what’s trendy, you can even sort by “Most Hearted” which lets you see what other shoppers have on their wishlists.

If the goal of your online shopping trip is to find an outfit with the look of luxury, then you’ll want to visit The Outnet. This site serves as a kind of outlet or overstock site for the luxury fashion site Net-a-Porter, so you can find all kinds of luxury products for up to 50% off! The Outnet has a wide variety, and you can even sort by “What to Wear” to occasions like skiing, a wedding, and the gym. These categories are curated so you don’t have to struggle to look for something to wear to a special event.

Those of you that are trying to shop sustainability in mind, or those looking to make space for new clothes will be happy to check out The RealReal. This site acts like an online consignment store, so they will assess clothing and accessories, and then put them up for sale. Just like a brick-and-mortar consignment store, if you look hard enough you can find expensive luxury brands for next to nothing. If you’re trying to reduce and reuse then The RealReal is a great choice for you.

Another online resale store I love is Vestiare Collective. Based in Europe, they stock name brands from Balenciaga to Stuart Weitzman for prices much lower than retail. I really appreciate stores like Vestiare Collective because they keep these great pieces in circulation, which means keeping them out of landfills. Vestiare Collective also offers rush shipping, even for international purchases so you can get that perfect vintage item right when you need it.

When I make luxury fashion purchases online, the site I turn to most often is Net-a-Porter. I often shop on Net-a-Porter for clients and myself, and their shipping policies are excellent. Their product curators are some of the best I’ve seen online. The Net-a-Porter site has the same “What to Wear” curated section that’s on their other site, the OutNet. This section makes it easy to buy clothes that you know will make a great outfit together. Net-a-Porter also has a section for the environmentally-minded shopper, because the items in their “Net Sustain” category all meet at least one of eight attributes that support a more sustainable fashion industry.

As we continue on my list of favorite online clothing stores, we move towards the higher end of the clothing market. My next recommendation is Mytheresa, and one of my favorite parts of their site is their “Essentials”. This is a great place to find trendy items in neutral colors that are fantastic to have as basics. Designers often collaborate with Mytheresa as well, so if you watch closely, you can snag a one-of-a-kind piece from your favorite designer.

Farfetch is another wonderful site to find a wide array of high-quality pieces at a range of prices. One of the things I really like about Farfetch is that they have a pre-owned section that has great deals on some popular designer items like Louis Vuitton bags. Farfetch also has one of my favorite jewelry selections online.

The last store on my list is the priciest one so far: Moda Operandi is an amazing site to find the highest-luxury items around. It’s fantastically curated and one of the only online stores I know of where you can purchase items right off the runway. And if the prices on their front page are a little intimidating to you, their sale section lets you sort by up to 80% off so you might be able to get more than you think! I hope this list can help you find the perfect site for your next online shopping spree. Make sure to comment so you can let me know which site is your favorite, and what perfect item you found there!
