Dressing for the Holiday Season
November 24, 2014
The Holiday season is just about here, and early December parties mean you have to start getting organized now. There are many different types of holiday events and they all require a different style and etiquette.
Office Party
The Classic Dress: An office party calls for a classy and more conservative dress. You can’t go wrong with the classic red dress. You will stand out in the crowd and look festive at the same time. I always like Halston Heritage for comfort and classic style.
Sequence Mini Skirt: A sequence mini is very festive and and can be dressed up or down for an office party. Pair it with a silk tank and a blazer for a comfortable, classic office party look. Love this one from Parker and this one from Herve Leger is marked down by a crazy amount.
Black Tie: Black Tie can be daunting for most people, don’t take it too seriously. Try changing things up a little, take a look at a few of these ideas.
Black Jumpsuit by Reiss
Bedazzled Wrap around by Jimmy Choo.
Black Wool Mix Cape by New Look
White Tux Jacket – Pair this with a pair of clack cigarette pants and a silk white tank and a pair of black pointy stilettos and you have a very cool black tie look. This jacket by Michael Kors and if you don’t want to pay that price tag you can find something similar here.
Chic Mini Dress: If black tie is ” suggested” you can get away with a classy mini dress. If you are wearing a short dress for a black tie remember to keep your neckline higher. Only show off one body part at a time. This one by Tibi I also love this one I found at Shopbop.
Out With Friends: This is the time you can take a few risks. Have fun and anything really goes.
I love this one by Anine Bing. It fits like a glove, is a little risky but still classy and fun. A great holiday option for out with your friends.
