Maxed Out

It’s summer time and even though I am in the fashion industry I have a handful of pieces that I reach for on a regular basis.  One of them is my Splendid grey long maxi skirt.  Its super soft, just the right length to wear flat shoes and it can go from the beach or boat to daytime lunch or evening out.  How can you not love it, it’s both big in comfort and long on style.

The long and short of it, ladies…the maxi skirt is here to stay and is a summer staple, so start experimenting. Long skirts are truly back this season, making an appearance everywhere. Team yours with funky boots and and edgy jacket for attitude and style when it cools off in the evening or flip flops and a jean jacket during the day. This is sleek, trailed to the ground to look seamless and endless.

Contrary to popular opinion, it’s not only Amazonian models who can pull off the maxi skirt. Rather, it’s a flattering option for a variety of body types. I am only 5’3 and I can rock that skirt with tee’s, tanks and swimwear.

Try a black maxi skirt with loose layers on top and long necklaces for a sophisticated edge to your dressing. A slim cotton one with a loose tank or tee.  Get out there and have fun and look good while you are out there.
