Okay. So summer time often, actually just in general, if you watch my videos, I hate me in tight clothing. I don't like it. I feel uncomfortable. It makes me feel like I have to suck in. A lot of times of the summer, it's hot. It's sticky out if you live in a humid climate or maybe it's just a dry arid climate and still hot.
There's nothing worse than having something really tight on when it's hot. So a really classy thing to do if you got, if you have to go out or you're looking for some new outfits for your wardrobe is palazzos pants or wide leg pants. It's one of my favorite things to wear in the summer.
So when we're talking about comfortable classy, chic outfits, I'm going to give you a building block. We'll start with the wide leg palazzos pants.
So you can get them in many different fabrics. This one is a cotton one. In fact, these ones are from a company called Bobi out of LA. This video is not sponsored at all. I'm really just a total fan of their products.
I found them on Shopbop Revolve. I'll leave a link to some of the stuff down below. I love these pants, but this is just a general idea. So I'm, I happen to be wearing these ones. So I'm going to talk about them. Okay. Can we talk about this? They have the elastic waist LIGO. Why this elastic band is. Summertime is all about the comfortable elastic band. The wide legs are really nice material.
Okay. So that's your starting point. So whether you have a pair in your closet from a while ago, or you don't have a pair at all, I would say it's a great pair of pants to invest in, to keep for years. Cause they don't really go out of style, especially if they're a classic material like linen or something like that.
So oftentimes with a pair of wide palazzos pants, I suggest wearing a tighter tank. So for me, I'm actually wearing the matching top that goes with the pants also from Bobi. You can get it in the matching color. But I threw this on. Um, and I really liked the look of it. It depends on your body shape.
Typically if I'm wanting to dress up a little bit more, I would add a ribbed tank to this, a bigger, um, bag. I just think that if you have something wide going on on the bottom, it's a little nicer to keep a tighter top. So that's what I would recommend. Again, for your body type, it just depends. This tank is really cute.
So what type of body shape are the palazzos pants good for? If you are in British triangle like myself, you have wider shoulders, you're going to add a little bit of weight on the bottom. So it's great for you. If you have a great little waistline and hourglass, these are good for you. Even that anyone that's carrying weight around the middle and elastic wide leg pants sure looks cute. So a lot of you guys can get away with it.
Anyone who is a little heavier on the bottom, you just want to make a, be a little careful with any type of wide leg pants like these. However, if you balance the top with something like this, you've probably got a great outfit.
So that's a good starting point to casual, chic and comfortable chic is starting with something that is like easy breezy, nice material and wide leg pants.
The second way you can take your casual outfit into looking really shake is the way that you wear your jewelry. So I get a lot of questions about this. Actually, some of you, this is very intuitive. Some people is not intuitive. So what I want to let you know about jewelry is if you want to make your outfit look simple, chic, there's a way to do it.
So if you're going to wear a bigger pair of earrings. So for example, I consider these gold hoops from Anna Louisa, like a bigger pair of jewelry. So then I won't, I won't also have on a big necklace. There's nothing that screams to me like not chic is then it just completely be dazzled everywhere. And that's my own personality. That's my own I. That's how I feel. But it is a common thing.
A lot of times we'll look at someone and be like, wow, they look great, but you don't really know why. And it's because of balance. Usually when someone's very well balanced with what they're wearing, it's pleasing to the eye and that's why they look really classy and chic. And they could just have on a tank top and a pair of jeans.
So when I'm wearing heavier earrings, then I will wear a bunch of rings, a bunch of like thin little stacked gold rings. At the time when I'm filming this 2020, that's a trend.
Um, if I want to wear a chunky necklace, it is also trendy. There's a big thick chain necklaces. Those are in. There's a really cool gold ball one from Ann Louisa that I like. So if I'm wearing one thick gold necklace or silver, whatever it is, then I will take off all the rings and I will just put out a small pair of earrings. So maybe a stud maybe a smaller hoop than this, because I don't necessarily want to have like a whole bunch of stuff going on.
So be conscious about your jewelry choices. It's either big earrings and rings. Think of it. Cause they're far away from each other or a chunky necklace and keep the rings really light.
The next way to make your really casual outfit look chic is elevated with a pair of classy, but flat or kitten heel shoes.
So this is one of the things I talk about on all my videos. If I throw on a pair of rubber flip flops with this, it ruins my outfit. I mean, I might have a casual outfit I can throw on and walk around the house or go to my own pool or whatever. But if I put on a flat pair of elevated shoes, like a dressier pair, now instantly looked like I have it pulled together.
So there are so many different kinds out there. I love a great neutral pair. I'm going to leave a few links down below. A square toe is really trending right now. I love those. Any of the platforms, the birkenstocks are actually really trending. I love those. Any type of TIVA sandals. So they're a little more clunky than maybe a chic look, but again, better than a flip flop.
The ones that I'm wearing those with this outfit, or one of my favorite pair of sandals, these ones are actually are amazed. They're a flat Brown pair. I wear them all the time. I wear them with dresses. I wear them with wide leg pants and wear them with my linen shorts. I feel like they're just a classy, flat pair of sandals that really dress up any outfit. But there, you don't have to buy these ones. But I do love investing in shoes.
So if you're going to get a pair of classic shoes, then definitely save your money and go all the way. But if you want to just buy something, try it out. Don't wanna spend the money. Then I have a whole bunch of links down below.
Another great secret, check out the online consignment stores. I'll leave you a few below. Because there's some amazing quality consignment stores online.
Also check out your local value village because often times people give stuff away. I know I do all the time and I don't have a lot of time to deal with it. So I just put it in a bag and send it on over. And so some of those gems are coming from some of the styling people you know in your neighborhood.
One more thing about having a pair of classy, classic, flat pair of sandals in your closet, you can literally pull them out all the time. So you don't need to have a bunch of pair of shoes. I'm kind of going for a minimalist wardrobe here for you guys. But if you have a classic pair of nude ones, they pretty much will go with 80% of your wardrobe.
Just to be safe. You can add in a black pair if you want, but there'll be your goto sandals that you grab and had right out the door.
Another way to make your really casual outfit look instantly chic is being intentional. So what do I mean by that? Basically matching. It's the same thing as about the jewelry.
Oftentimes our eyes find something that's pleasing, that has something repetitive about it. And so when I say that it could be a matching top and pants. Sometimes if I had on a white top white pants where the matching tube tops to this, it kind of instantly gives me a more elevated look because it's intentional.
Another great trick. And Kate Middleton does this all the time is she actually will match her pumps to her dress. So I noticed that a lot about her and it just gives a really intentional look and it's very clean and very pulled together.
So for example, it could just be a pair of sweatpants and a matching tank top. It could be a pair of tie dye casual shorts, and the cute little tie dye sweatshirt that goes with it.
But there's still some intention behind the pairing of the, of the pieces. So we can take that a step further, and I've actually seen this many times on bloggers and it looks fantastic.
When you start noticing it, bloggers will actually match their lipstick to their purse. And again, just making the point that it's about being intentional. So it's the power of two. So if you're going to take a pop of color, repeat it somewhere, and again, just be conscious of what you're doing and the placement of it. Red lips, maybe you have red person you're wearing a Navy blue dress, how cute or a white dress or a tan dress, but it would just be that little pop or the red lips and red shoes. Very cute.
The last way that you can make any of your casual looks look really great and upgraded in chic mix and match textures.
So for example, if I had on a pair of white jeans, I can see, I have a little white tank top that's like a knitted material. So I think it's like, it's a cotton, but it's knit. It's really cute. It kind of has a higher neck. Cropped the sleeves, but the texture has changed from the denim.
Or if you have on a pair of like white suede sandals and the texture changes. Any type of texture change like that is fantastic. Throwing on a lace Komono, um, with some fringe, with the jeans that you have in like a ribbed tank, again is a change in texture and it just makes you look really pulled together, even wearing a monochromatic color.
Thank you guys so much for tuning in. I hope that you enjoyed this video. Those are some of my tips and tricks for making your really casual outfits look chic and look upgraded.
The most important thing is, is that you feel good in what you're wearing. So that's what I say to everyone. And also it's your inner beauty coming out. But nothing is worse than being squished into a tight something that doesn't fit well. You're not going to feel good, even if you think the dress or whatever it is looks good.
Okay. Anyway, I will see you guys on the next video. Say hi to me down below.
Kim was absolutely a dream to work with. I had to find a dress for a New York red carpet film premiere, and she came to my home with amazing options to get the look perfect. She nailed it, and was so kind and supportive! She really made me feel super confident for such an important event, and took the stress off of me for getting the look together!
It was so great to work with her, and I look forward to the next time :)
